Wombo Dream: the App that can visualize EVERYTHING in less than 20 seconds

Imagine Van Gogh or Picasso developed their art style for many years and produced a unique painting after hours or weeks of thinking and polishing. Thanks to the advance of technology and every diligent engineer behind it, we can now create a piece of art in 20 seconds.

Wombo Dream is a simple app with Artificial Intelligence technology. You can create digital art by using this app just by typing any keywords you want on the prompt text provided. So convenient.

How to use it?

This app is available for iOS and Android users — and even better, you do not have to install it on your phone or computer; just visit their website here, and you can try it immediately. I said immediately since you don’t have to register and create a new account even to use it.

Wombo Dream has 19 art styles that you can freely choose, such as Moonwalker, Baroque, Mystical, Etching, Festive, Dark Fantasy, etc. If you do not want to bother to choose, just select “no style,” and the app will pick a random style for you.

After you type whatever keyword you are pleased with and choose your art style, click the “create” button at the bottom of the website and just wait for 20 seconds because your art piece is on a bake. When Wombo Dream finishes generating an image, you can save it to your device, publish, or buy the print.

Some of the generated images produced by this app do not always look exactly the way you described. For example, I typed “dancing with an octopus under the sea,” with Mystical as the theme (see the image below).

“dancing with an octopus under the sea,” saved from Wombo Dream

You can see an object like an octopus with its pink color floating and dancing which almost resembles a perfectly shaped woman in a purple dress. Their floating gesture can be assumed as they are under the sea — additionally, the sparkling blue ambiance can accentuate it more.

Why is this app better?

Wombo Dream is an application from Deep Fake’s Canadian startup Wombo, which uses artificial intelligence to create something unique. The company is famous for its prior app called Wombo, which is a Deepfake singing AI.

Now the company has made a breakthrough by releasing Wombo Dream back in late 2021. Actually, Wombo Dream is not the first app that is able to generate an authentic image.

Many free apps and website predecessors also use AI to create a unique picture by using prompt text or sketch, such as Dall-E and Gaugan2. There is also a website that simply generates a nonexistent human face. You can try it here.

Those other apps have their own advantages and disadvantages. Dall-E could produce a unique object image from the combination of the words. It takes up individual words, links images to them, and then combines them according to the prompt text. However, the word choices are limited to the option that the AI model was trained on.

Dall-E: Limited choices of words.

Gaugan2 is also a great app where you can sketch a landscape by using brush and pencil tools, and after that, the app will turn your sketch into an actual picture of the scenery you draw. The disadvantage of this app is it feels fragile to use and too slow. I had to try several times to generate an image from my sketch successfully. It does look excellent and photo-like, and if they make the app more user-friendly, I think it will be the best.

Gaugan2: My first successful picture after 7 times trying

The thing that makes Wombo Dream special is how convenient it is. The app is faster than the others, and you will understand how to use it even if you never read the manual. The best thing about it also if you don’t like the result, you can just click “generate again,” and the app will show you another result in the same art style.

Wombo Dream: you can mint it as an NFT

There is also a button to mint your image as an NFT. The feature is not available yet, but you see my point now why this app is so much simple and compact at the same time. I believe that the app will be more developed and generate a more accurate picture in the future.

Do we really need this app?

For artists — it could be a reference for their works. Of course, Google and Pinterest are good for inspiration, but the thing that makes this app different is the generated images that you get are only for you. The result is unique, and you can not find it anywhere.

An artist on Twitter drew a comic inspired by using the Wombo Dream.

As an artist myself, I certainly feel help with this kind of app. The choice of color harmony and variation in every generated picture is the one that becomes the easy best thing about the app. Even better, most images also show the light direction and where the shadow falls.

The benefit is also can be perceived by the writer! If you need an illustration or a depiction for your work — just type some words, and find the best result you want to use.

The app tries its best to the resemblance of people walking in the castle

Furthermore, this app is also best for people who want to produce and mint an NFT but can not draw by themselves. Just write the keywords and click create, then you will have one image that only belongs to you.
